2. What we collect
We collect only what we need to answer an enquiry, arrange a viewing and complete a sale:
- Your name and contact details (telephone number and email address)
- Details of the bike you are interested in and any questions you ask
- Where a sale proceeds, the information required to transfer the bike, including your name, address and the details recorded on the V5C registration document
- Payment confirmation details, such as the date and amount of a transfer (we do not store full card numbers)
3. Why we use it
We use your information to respond to enquiries, arrange and manage viewings and test rides, prepare bike transfer documents, take and receipt payment, keep accounting records as required by law, and deal with any complaint or query after a sale. Our lawful bases are the performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in running the business, and our legal obligations in relation to record keeping.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only where it is necessary: with the DVLA and its services as part of the V5C transfer, with our payment providers to take payment, with our accountant and professional advisers, and with any third party where we are required to do so by law. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party marketing.
5. How long we keep it
Enquiry information is kept for up to 12 months from the last contact. Sale and accounting records are kept for at least six years to meet tax and record-keeping obligations. Bike transfer documentation is retained for as long as necessary to evidence the transfer and then securely destroyed.
6. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to request access to the information we hold about you, to ask for it to be corrected if it is inaccurate, to ask for it to be erased where we no longer need it, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to request a portable copy. 7. Security and cookies
Information is held on access-controlled systems and transmitted over encrypted connections. Our website sets only the cookies described in our cookie policy, and we do not use advertising trackers.
