Six checks every vehicle goes through
This is the preparation routine applied before a car appears on the stock list. It is a reasonable trade check, not a manufacturer inspection, and it is no substitute for an independent engineer if you want one.
- Mechanical checkBrakes, steering, suspension, lights and fluid levels are checked before a vehicle is offered for sale.
- Body and interior reviewPanels, paint, glass and interior trim are reviewed, and anything we notice is described.
- DocumentationV5C, MOT history and any service records we hold are gathered and made available at viewing.
- Tyres and consumablesTread depth, tyre condition and battery health are checked as part of preparation.
- Road testEach vehicle is driven on a mix of town and faster roads before it is listed.
- Valet and presentationVehicle is cleaned inside and out, and photographed for the stock listing.
What we do not claim
No unqualified claims, no mileage warranty
Some dealers apply one blanket description to every car and quote a warranted mileage. We do not, because we cannot evidence it for every vehicle that passes through the forecourt. Instead:
- We do not use unverified condition phrases in any listing
- Mileage published is the odometer reading, and is not independently warranted
- We do not claim complete service records unless the paperwork is physically present
- We do not describe a vehicle as having a single keeper or as being in showroom condition
- Vehicles are sold as seen, as set out in our terms of sale
- Where we hold a record of a marker or repair, we will tell you at the viewing
Your own inspection
Independent checks are welcome
You are entitled to satisfy yourself about a vehicle before you buy it. Bring a mechanic, arrange an inspection with a third-party engineer, or ask us to photograph a specific area — whichever gives you the confidence you need.
Bring your own mechanic
You are welcome to bring anyone you trust to a viewing. We will make the vehicle available and answer their questions directly.
Commission a report
Arrange an inspection with an independent engineer and we will facilitate access at an agreed time before you commit to buying.
Request extra photographs
Ask for particular angles, the interior, the boot, tyre treads or the paperwork and we will send photographs before you travel.
After collection
If something needs explaining later
Used vehicles need attention from time to time. If a warning light appears, a document needs clarifying or you simply want to talk through a servicing question, contact the team on the number below. We will tell you what we know about the vehicle and, where we cannot help directly, point you towards a local specialist.
